The Belvoir Group has scooped the Best Investor Communication Award at the prestigious AIM Awards 2023, sponsored by BDO in association with the London Stock Exchange.
The AIM Awards identify the quoted companies who have harnessed AIM to help them fulfil their ambition and growth potential in the last 12 months. As well as looking at the criteria for each category the judges also considered how each shortlisted company addressed environmental and social issues as well as governance matters through the application of their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) policies.
The Belvoir Group’s Chief Finance Officer Louise George was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the Group from TV presenter and host Louise Minchin.
Speaking of the award, Louise said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award, having been shortlisted for the past few years, which I think is testimony to the consistency of our approach to investor communication.
“Design Portfolio have helped the Belvoir Group to prepare our annual report and website since 2014 and have also guided us on good governance and best practise. Their advice has contributed significantly to the high quality of our investor communications. In addition, the Belvoir Group CEO Dorian Gonsalves and I meet regularly with both our institutional and private investors to ensure that they have a clear understanding of our business model and financial performance. We always aim to be open and transparent in responding to all investor questions, which has built up significant trust, and we are delighted to have this hard work recognised.”
On awarding the Belvoir Group with the Best Investor Communication award, which was sponsored by Houston, the judges said: “Lincolnshire-based Belvoir Group is one of the largest franchised property groups in the UK. The group operates through two divisions: a network of property franchisees; and a network of financial advisers.
“Belvoir is incredibly committed to thorough investor communication, as demonstrated by the six retail investor events attended by the management team in the last year across a number of key communication platforms. Belvoir’s Annual Report demonstrates the Group’s high level of engagement with its stakeholders and its website was considered to be ‘first-class’ by the voting panel judges, with results presentations being promptly posted online.
“ESG highlights: Belvoir has developed a five-pillar strategy across Environmental, Social and Governance. It is building a decarbonisation strategy and will be carbon neutral in 2024, whilst also investing in its talent development and auditing across the franchisees’ businesses.”
