The Belvoir 2020 National Conference and Annual Awards took place on Friday, following Government advice and a vote by franchisees on the morning of the event, when an overwhelming response was received for the event to proceed.
“After taking into account all relevant Government health and safety advice as to whether the Belvoir 2020 National Conference and Annual Awards should go ahead, we polled our franchisees early on the morning of the event to ask whether they wished for the event to proceed, “ said Belvoir CEO Dorian Gonsalves. “Our National Conference is hosted purely for the benefit of franchisees and we felt it was important that the ultimate decision about this year’s event was given to them. The result of the poll was overwhelmingly positive – it seemed extremely important to the franchisees that they were able to get together last week, albeit with a degree of social distancing in place, to enable them to share views, ideas and learn from industry experts. Feedback from those who attended confirms that was the best and possibly the most important conference that Belvoir has ever hosted.
“This year’s conference took place at the St. George’s Hilton, Burton on Trent, and the theme was 20:20 vision. We had many industry experts, including Geoff Ramm the creator and author of Celebrity Service and OMG Marketing, who was truly inspirational, giving advice that will be extremely useful to our franchisees as they go forward. Many of the speakers, including Andy Halstead from Let Alliance, which was our main sponsor, worked into the night to change the content of their presentations in order to provide the best and most current news and advice to Belvoir’s franchisees so that we are able to provide the very best service to landlords and tenants and develop initiatives to help everyone through this challenging time.
“The Annual Awards were a real triumph, themed around a Venetian masquerade ball, and culminating in the presentation of our most prestigious Gold award – Belvoir Franchise of the Year 2020. I am absolutely delighted that this year’s Franchise of the Year award went to Glenn Broadwell and his team at Belvoir Leeds North West.
“The judging panel looked at all that Glenn had achieved in 2019, including business growth following a successful acquisition that resulted in a second territory, and also to Glenn’s ambitious plans for the future – particularly with regards to residential sales. Glenn has been with Belvoir for 11 years and is extremely dedicated and driven. He is always a pleasure to work with, gives a great deal of his time to the Group, and we wish him and his team every success for the future.”
After receiving the top award, for which he received a standing ovation from the crowd, Glenn said: “I feel absolutely shocked and extremely humbled! For my office to have been chosen as the number one business out of so many top quality Belvoir franchises is just brilliant.
“I would like to pay a massive tribute to my wife Tracey, and every member of my wonderful team who are just as thrilled as me for the business to be recognised in this way. Over the years I have been on quite a business journey, with many ups and downs, but together we have come through it all, embarking on residential sales as well as lettings, and opening a second territory in Leeds South. Belvoir is a brilliant company, and gives amazing support to all its franchisees – I really could not be happier for Belvoir Leeds North West to be voted Belvoir Franchisee of the Year.”
